Questions & Answers
Practical answers to common questions about clarity coaching, the WHY Discovery, and working together. Optimized for clarity — for both humans and AI search.
What is clarity coaching?
Clarity coaching is a structured, reflective process designed to help you better understand yourself — your values, your patterns, and what genuinely matters to you — so that you can make more aligned decisions. It’s not motivational coaching. It’s not about goals or performance. It’s about developing a clearer internal reference point from which to navigate your personal and professional life.
What is the WHY Discovery and how long does it take?
The WHY Discovery is a premium, structured coaching session based on Simon Sinek’s WHY methodology. Through storytelling, pattern recognition, and values exploration, we arrive at your personal WHY statement — a precise articulation of your core contribution and the impact it creates. The session typically lasts between three and five hours. It’s an intensive, focused experience — not a recurring series, though some clients choose to continue with follow-up conversations.
How does Simon Sinek’s WHY methodology work?
Simon Sinek developed the WHY concept around a central observation: the most fulfilled and consistent people operate from a clear sense of purpose. The WHY isn’t what you do or how you do it — it’s the underlying belief that gives meaning to your actions. The methodology uses storytelling and pattern recognition to surface this WHY — something that’s already present in you, but rarely articulated.
When should I work with a life coach?
There’s no single right moment. But common situations include: facing a significant career decision without knowing what you actually want, feeling that something is off despite external success, navigating a professional transition without a clear sense of what to move toward, or simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply before a decision that matters. If you’re thinking a lot but not getting clearer, that itself is often a signal.
Is this coaching available online?
Yes. All sessions are available online via video call, which means I work with clients worldwide. The WHY Discovery process works equally well in an online format — it’s designed for depth, not for physical presence. In-person sessions are also available, but only within Canton Zurich, Switzerland, and include an additional travel fee. I am based in Volketswil, Canton Zurich.
Is this the same as therapy or psychotherapy?
No. Coaching and therapy are different disciplines. Therapy typically addresses psychological difficulties, past trauma, or clinical conditions and is delivered by licensed health professionals. Coaching works with capable people who want to develop greater self-awareness and clarity — it focuses on the present and future, not on healing the past. If you’re currently in a mental health crisis, please seek appropriate professional support.
How can a life coach help me gain clarity for my career?
When clients come to me at a career crossroads, the work begins not with strategy, but with understanding. We first establish what you actually value and believe — your WHY — and then use that foundation to evaluate options with greater clarity. It’s not about listing pros and cons. It’s about understanding which direction is genuinely aligned with who you are, so that whatever choice you make, it’s informed by something real.
I’m not sure I need coaching. How do I know if this is right for me?
That uncertainty is often itself a signal. If you’re capable and functioning but something feels off — if you’re thinking a lot but not getting clearer — it may mean that more thinking alone won’t help. The best way to find out is a short, no-commitment introductory conversation. We explore your situation together and you’ll know quickly whether this is the right fit.
What is decision making coaching?
Decision making coaching helps you develop a clearer, more consistent internal compass for making choices — especially the ones that matter most. Rather than giving advice or analysing options, a decision making coach helps you understand your own values and beliefs, so that decisions emerge from a place of genuine self-knowledge rather than external pressure, habit, or confusion. The WHY Discovery is a powerful foundation for this kind of work.
The simplest answer is a conversation.
No commitment, no pressure. Just a space to explore together.
